Hey there! It’s me! WWDC 2022 was on tuesday! I am here today to give you guys a summary of what happened! Let’s dive into it.

iOS 16- The new software updates for iPhones focuses alot of customization. For the first time in apple history, we will be able to customize the lock screen! You can add widgets to the lock screen. have different focus lock screens, and can change the font on the lock screen! Also notifications will now roll in from the bottom of the screen. New updates include better shared photo libraries and some new updates to messages. You can now edit a message and can unsend a message! Apple also has been working on shareplay and you can now shareplay over messages! They have also been fixing some bugs on the mail app. They introduced passkeys which are “a more secure and easier way to sign in” (apple.com). Now there is live text for video which basically means you can pause a video with text and be able to copy and paste it! You can also lift a subject from a picture and isolate it which is cool. Better dictation and automatic punctuation on dictation!! Updates to maps, updates to apple pay and wallet like Apple pay later which allows you to split the cost of something you bought using apple pay. New updates to home which I will not go in depth. Health and fitness updates. And family sharing updates. Privacy and Security safety check , and accessibility updates like door detection and live captions, and more! iPadOS 16- In the new software update for iPad apple announced: Shared Photo library just like on iPhone. Message updates like unsending and editing messages, and shareplay through messages. Updates to the mail app. Safari shared tab groups and the introduction of Passkeys. Stage manager which is a new way to multitask on the ipad. You will be able to resize windows and see overlapping windows in a single view on ipads. New display modes like reference mode for the 12.9 inch ipad pro and display scaling mode. The weather app on the ipad, finally! A redesigned game center dashboard and new updates for games. Live text for video which I explained and lifting a subject from a background, also live text quick actions and shortcuts without setup. New updates to home and family sharing. Desktop class apps which I still do not fully understand but I believe it lets you edit and do other stuff for productivity. Freeform which is a productivity app where you and others can bring your ideas to live. Privacy and security updates. WatchOS 9- New workout updates such as new workout views on the apple watch, customization of workouts, heart rate zones and more. Medication updates on the Health app. Sleep tracking, and new watch faces and more easily customizable faces! There is a new lunar face which looks really cool! AFib history which tracks the times your heart shows signs of AFib. Updates to family setup. Accessibility updates like double pinch to start a workout or take a photo. macOS Ventura- This is the update for macs! First of all, I will say that I liked the name monterey better (it’s fun to say), but Ventura is also a nice name. Improved search and updates on the mail app. Enhanced image search in spotlight, also a new search design and quick actions for spotlight. Safari and Passkeys updates, shared tab groups on safari. Messages updates like edit messages and unsend messages. Shareplay through Messages and richer collaboration. Updates to photos such as icloud shared photo library. Stage Manager which is new, it automatically orangizes your apps and windows into a single view. Facetime handoff on macs, say if you are on a facetime on your phone you can switch to your mac. Continuity camera which lets you use your iPhone as a webcam for your mac!! Updates to games, freeform which I talked about with ipads. System Settings, basically they took the style of the sidebar in iPhone and iPad settings and put it in system preferences on the macs. Privacy and Security updates, accessibility updates and more! New MacBook air!!- The finally introduced a new macbook air! It has a new design, m2 chip, up to 18 hours of battery life, a liquid retina display, and advanced camera and audio. It is very thin, like always, 2.7 pounds and 0.44″ thin. There are four colors: Space gray, silver, starlight (new for mb air) and the one I am most excited about, midnight (also new). The new M2 chip is in it and makes it super fast! There is still tough id but now instead of the boring usbc port for charging we get a magsafe charging port (which is amazing, my dad has it on his 2015 macbook), and two thunderbolt ports! Macbook pro 13”- The new 13″ macbook pro has the m2 chip basically other than that it’s the same as the other m1 13″ macbook pro, so I would probably not upgrade to the new one if you already have the m1 . It has 20 hours of battery life . It has a retina display, 500 nits of brightness and true tone. Better camera and audio, and the same magic keyboard with a touch bar.. Personally I am not a big fan of the touch bar and prefer regular keys. It has touch id. For more information go to https://www.apple.com/apple-events/
